Thread: Startup crash

Hi guys,

I bought a copy of L4D2 about 3 or 4 days ago and since then it has had the same error after copious reinstalls, cache verifications and different launch commands. The programme loads and it comes up with the valve logo and then the source logo but as the source logo dims out, it crashes right at the same moment every time just before the screen goes black when you can faintly see the source logo.

I can then open the task manager and end the programme (even though it's in a silly resolution) as it says it's simply not responding. I feel like there's something quite obvious that I'm just not turning off/switching on or whatever but I don't know what it is. Help!

Yes, I have done it 4 or 5 times but it seems that it's not the issue

Pretty sure it's not as I can play all other games fine and most of them are more graphics intensive than L4D2
