Thread: Can we stop EVO

I come here because i was impress how bigdog and sjt17 lead players, and we also finished EVO. Can we go back to small teamplaer maps? Evo isnt good for teamplayers, so please lets do teamplay.

I Hate Evo.....unless we have 40+ players, it's impossible.

I'm away from the servers for a few days, but I'll be back on co-op teamplay maps in thursday....

I guess im one of the few here that likes EVO. Well i try not to think in terms of BF2 when im playing this, and thats where my mind set was when i played it at first. I like to think of it as short missions i can accomplish during this long campaign. It gives you freedom to make your own objective or pick any place on the map to go and do anything. And when enough people get together, you can change your approach to the next obj. Dont go in thinking, I gotta finish this today. Its way to long. The part thats hard for people i think, is getting separated so far when you die. I played one called Revolution tonight that was nice. You could spawn at the captured objectives, and not all the way back at airbase. There was also some upgrade to terrain, and the AI seemed much more realistic in behavior.
If no one is in, or no one i know is in game, i can take my time and go snipe at the outskirts of a city and enjoy the scenery. I think sniping or just marksmanship is soo much funner and more realistic here than anything ive played yet. I was shooting at night with night vision recnently, and not only were the odd riccochets flying off into the sky, but i actually saw one of my bullets bounce up then go through a chain link fence, which then sent the tracer cork screwing in another direction! I even saw one of my riccochets kill a guy once. Theres alot of cool things about just the graphics and realism of this game besides the combat, although i think some of the sound files could be changed. The jet sounds are just cheesy.
We had a great moment of team play the other night with me rode, nuckle and a couple other guys. We where all on TS, while that KSK squad had their own TS. They were doing some very organized assaults on the same obj that we where. We worked our way close to the outskirts of masbete, and i gave rode a coordinate for air strike near the radio tower. Out of the black sky he came screaming in with the harrier and dropped a big cluster right on target along with demolishing several buildings. Big explosion lighting up the sky. The funny thing is that the KSK guys where working hard to get up to the same radio tower, but they weren't in communication with us. Turns out they were 100meters from that tower when it all blew up right in front of them. It could have been worse, but we beat them too it just barely. Though we had great team work, i see the problem with communicating with other squads. We could have wiped them out. Anyway, ive seen most of EVO now and im ready for other missions. I hope we can get some new stuff on the server, but if anyone cares to set up a day of team play on arma, just hit my email on the left or post up something here in the forums. I still like EVO, but would rather play different versions. Vet mode in particular, and any other missions are fine by me.
