the game is defaulted at 800x600
when i change the resolution settings it crashes and gives me the error message I provided.

Here are my system specs

Memory: 2048MB RAM
Hard Drive: 160 GB Total
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT

Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio output
Speakers/Headphones: logitech
Keyboard: USB Root Hub
Mouse: Razer Copperhead

All drivers are updated as well as Direct X.
If you could please let me know what I can do to fix this I would greatly appreciate it.

This happend to Creative as well.

Maybe its the new update from a few days ago. I didn't know about it till i booted up the game and it had an option on my main menu.

I got this when i tried to change my resolution from 800x600 to 1280x1024 with the demo.

Are you running X-Fire? I had a similar problem yesterday. I had to close X-Fire, Start CoD4, change options, make sure they are changed, quit CoD4, Start X-Fire, and Start CoD4.

yeah I had issues running Xfire with COD4 too on day one , almost went on thinking Xfire and Cod 4 were not compatible , but they run fine if Xfire starts first before COd 4 is run. :2

I just shut off Xifre when i play Cod 4. Multi or single player.

I had this issue and i think as long as my xfire was running i couldn't change my settings. I turned off xfire and seem to have no problem anymore.
