Ya know... I have a great time playing on a team of new players. Everyone is awful together. The other team is happy to chomp our ass and our team turnover always makes other new players come in to get chomped. Who would kick another awful player if you're awful too?

No problem till we get a better player or two. Then it's 'do this' and 'do that' then vote-kick time for the new players.

    Is this fair?

Versus is just a stinking place to play some times. Everyone who plays well tends to vote off those that are there to have fun and maybe get the hang of the game.

If you can't handle playing with new players, don't vote-kick, switch teams.

I'de like to see a lobby or two that are full of just new players.

    As far as rage quitting...

I pretty much only leave when my someone on my team starts that 'everyone' else 'is an ass****' crap.

That not so much rage quitting as it is time to find another lobby without the bully boys.

Damn. Deja vu folks. Same old laments going on and on forever. It's a shame the people we rail about don't read these forums, huh? Maybe they'd be guilted into changing their behavior. Anyway, here's a repeat of the same time tested truisms that have worked for me as an occasional weekend warrior and who is definitely NOT an "elite" "pro" player...

    - Find some friends who you like and who like you. Play versus and campaign with them. This is how I got into L4D. I found a great person who had a bunch of friends and whenever I play 4v4 it's always with them.

    - When pubbing, play on a 9x9 (or more) or 9+ campaign server. You can "warm up" if you need and not be noticed so much if/when you screw up (except when tanking of course). There's fun ones on L4D2 and L4D1.

    - Get a mic and use it. The bullies out there find it easier to harass a series of text entries rather than someone on a mic. Not always true though since there are those choads who will be a dick no matter what you say or how you say it.

    - Quit when it isn't fun and find a different server. Why the hell should you force yourself to ruin the enjoyment you bought with your hard earned money? I get 1-2 hours on the weekend evenings to play. I'm not going to blow that on some idiots who have interaction issues.

    With respect:

    The thing with the mic...

I have a mic and have no problem with using it... sparingly.

    Except with...

    The better players...

...micro-manager's constant harangue... good intent but just another distraction.

...the chatter to kick someone... 'do it' 'do it...' again just too little time to digest what the heck he/she is talking about. And I personally will not kick someone who is just 'new player' bad... like me!

    The kiddie playing...

...the kid playing loud pop turd music in the background...

...the constant 'stream of babble' thing...

Then I turn off all incoming, both mic and other players and try to learn the game.

It sometimes even gets to the point when the other lousy players, like me, vote-kick me for not listening to their crapola!

    :waves:

I know right. I must have played No Mercy 1 a million times compared to the rest of the levels.

And I naturally shoot through the wall in that level near the beginning where the Boomer usually hides. I can't see them - I have been accused of hacking in the past, which I laugh at as I have no idea how to do that.

I've actually considered playing a bit pants for a couple of rounds to get the game going. But I don't know, I guess they just can't hack it. And I admit that I get really frustrated sometimes if the other team are amazing and I die instantly - but I don't quit.

Ragers will be ragers. And I'll keep raging about the ragers.

I was playing last night with 2 from the forums and 1 random I think and the random attempted to boot me... I don't even know why, it was fairly close to the beginin' and I don't think I had done anythin' too stupid... Yet.

I'm not a great player so maybe he just knew that lol.

Rage Quitters really spoil the game IMO. I mean, it's just a game. The purpose is to have fun. What I also hate is when people start banning their team mates if they are losing...
