Re: Go on...convince me
Angel,
COD4 is awesome in my opinion, in fact it is the reason I left BF2142. Lets start by talking about bugs. COD4 has crashed on me about 5 times since I have owned it (over 4 months). When you load a map or change your display resolution it does not render shaders or any other BS and you are literally in a game after a few seconds of loading time. In fact Braddoc (another BF2142 player that I lured to the dark side) tells me everytime the game loads he says "Holy shit that was fast!"
There are a ton of different weapons to choose from and get good with, plenty of challenges and ranks to gain as well. It won't take you as long to reach the max level as BF2142 does but it will take you a few weeks at the least. This is not a console game and if you are comparing your online time in COD4 to a non TTP server well yes they are full of asshats and teamplay is pretty much nonexistant. COD4 is new to TTP and you can be a part of it if you buy the game. We are opening eyes in the COD4 community every day and bringing in new quality team players. TTP's server should never be compared to a pub.
You get UAV's, air strikes, and choppers in place of vehicles. There are wall mounted MG's, flash bangs, smoke grenades, stun grenades, etc. When you knife someone it makes you feel all warm inside even if you don't get dog tags like in 2142. Plus you don't have to have your knife out to knife someone it is bound to a seperate key so you can quickly switch from whatever weapon you are using to knife someone.
BF2142 had alot of bugs way more than any other game I have ever played and the server stability and game stability will be apparent after only a few days of owning the game. The graphics are awesome yes but that is not why you should buy it. The voip in game works and we are getting more and more people everyday that use their mics and are team players. You can shoot through walls to kill people and you can do all kinds of other cool things like carry two primary weapons if you want using your perks that you unlock with your rank.
But the number 1 reason to buy COD4 is that you get to play with me and hear my insane rants about killing kittens if people don't visit www.texasteamplayers.com and register in the forums. I would also recommend reading the beginners guide article I wrote, it will give you some more informatoin about the game. TTP also hosts it's own stats for the game called Ultra Stats click the link to check it out. Hope to see you server side soon!
To Frag, look I know your young but take your hissy fits else where. Just because you quit the Hobo's because you didn't like that we don't exclusively play BF2142 anymore doesn't give you the right to rag on any other member of the Hobo's or to interupt someone elses post who is trying to get legitimate information about a new game they may be interested in. I am respectively asking you to STFU from now on when you think about giving someone shit because they no longer play BF2142. Move on, everyone else has.

Well, with hardcore it's quite different from CS:S in that most weapons will kill you dead in one or two hits, but a lot of the tactics and suchlike do carry over. Oh, and I highly recommend the single player, both for the practice and because it's a kickass single player campaign.

Re: Go on...convince me
One last thing. When you first play the multiplayer, you have classes already made for you that you CANNOT change. I think somewhere's around level 8-10 (you rank from level 1 all the way to 55), you are enabled to start making your own kits. You get to choose primary weapon, side arm, and the type of special grenade you want (smoke, flash, stun). To get certain add ons for weapons you must complete challenges for the weapon you wish to have the add on for. For example, to enable yourself to get a red dot sight for an M4, you may have to kill 10 people. The same applies for silencers, acog scopes and the different types of cammo for your guns.
