Thread: new computer means new start?

So i get my new machine up today, and load cod4 put in my user name and log on to ttp and im the lowest of the low, when i jsut made 5 star last night.!!!!

arrggg anyone know anything about this?, also i guess anyone can have the same name, jsut not the same name on the server at the same time...this could cause an imposter issue. also one could copy someones name and pervent them from logging on the server?? ive not confrimed any of this but it seems that way.


so eyah plz HELP!!!! i dun wanna do that agian, honestly thou it was not that bad took me like a week playing just a few hours a day.

If you have a new hard drive, then take your data file from your old one, and copy into the proper folder on your new hard drive.

go to your activision folder, then cod4 modern warfare, then players, then profiles, then copy that folder with your name on it. when you install cod4 on the new machine just go and paste that folder into the same directory. hth.

Unless you purchase the game from steam.. then goto :

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty 4\players\profiles

I dont have anything named c:\programfiles\steam.

I took the old players profile from my old pc, put it on a thumb drive and replaced with new install, no error but it did not get my user data back.

im over it thou my new machine is a nice to work with so it wont be all bad, getting it back.

You only have steam if you DL'ed from steam...if you bought the game at a store go to (on your OLD machine) c:\program files\activision\COD4\players\profile find the folder with your name and copy it. Put that folder in the exact same place on your NEW machine
