The max ping for entering the server is all that can be changed. Currently, it is at 250, and it will probably stay there. If any players come in and their ping doesn't drop (e.g. sticking around 180,200, etc.) admins will take care of it.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

    Re: Lower Max Ping

The problem with lowering the max ping is that the 'for low ping only' message drives away customer.

I know I fairly regularly get that message and have to retry to connect, but once in game my ping runs around 100 consistently; I am assuming that the initial ping to the server is transmitted a good bit higher than it actually is in game. Average users get that message and are going to move onto another server.

Given that server issues start to crop up (others start noticing peoples crappy ping) when other in the 150-175 range, lowering that threshold enough to actually matter would cause a big impact on the new connections inbound to the server. Set it at 175 and I bet a lot of regulars would have a hard time just getting connected.

All and all its not a good method for controlling issues of this nature as it is only checked once when you try to join the game. I know my ping has jumped into the 900+ range and I have still been connected to the server...
