Your stats should be in your player directory in COD4 folder. Just copy it and save it in case something happens.

They should be under the Activision folder in Program Files.

Well, then your install is probably corrupted. If COD4 doesn't give the option to run in safe mode after shutting down improperly, something's not right with it.

Got my problem fixed and I'm back in play with my new computer. I tried everything except one thing to fix it and then it dawned on me to try the restore option with XP and it worked. So if you run into a problem try restore if all else fails.
