We need the forums

The forums are the main way the Team players communicate about the game, server, and general info. This is the only place we can really talk and exchange ideas. I don't believe it is conducive to the community and to the server for the topics to be continually locked.

We need a place to talk this out and hear each others opinions.

We don't expect change as some have suggested, but to have a place to voice our concerns is nice. Maybe it will help some understand any changes that take place now or in the future.

No, not another post. This is a post saying it is nice to have a place to chat things out. Whether it is about the changes, or whatever else.

The locked threads on the changes are just what brought this to my attention.

there is the ideas and improvements forum? but if the admins found that the game play would be enhanced and the teamplay better by making these changes I think that the regulars would eventually warm up to the idea.

Exactly, these changes are final. This isn't a matter where we need to consult what the players want. It was a change made to bring CoD4 in line with the ethos and ideals of Texas Teamplayers. And those ideals are Teamwork and Communication.

So explain, in detail, how you would make Hardcore into a haven for both those ideals and the admins will listen. But moaning and whining will get you no where and the topic will be locked.

That is true. But you know what? I don't want to listen to the bitching and neither do the rest of the admins and the vast majority of TTP. You are bitching and moaning about something that my fellow admins and I have worked very hard to create. Think about that. No seriously, think about that before you complain.

If you complain because you truely hate playing Regular mode then go play somewhere else. But most people are simply bitching because Regular mode is new and big and scary. Well then, get over it, give it a few weeks and you won't even look back.

TTP's CoD4 server started on Regular mode and was changed on a trial basis. That trial went on for a while and then the Admins did a health check of the game. And we found that it didn't live up to TTP's philosophy.

So we changed it.

I realize the admins have a reason for the change and it is in the best interest of the community. I don't think anyone will argue that the admins are not doing their best to keep the Team playing alive and well.



I also believe in open communication, even if it is not what I like to hear or what admins want to hear. The forums are the only place we have to communicate our opinions and ideas, good , bad , or indifferent.


I haven't commented on the Server Change much because it doesn't matter to me. Regular or HC won't change my ability to have fun and interact with other TTP players.

I can assure you these forums aren't going anywhere. There was a period where they were down for a few days but then came back with a vengeance.
I too appreciate that there is an actual community attached to the servers as well. A place do discuss strategies, techniques, and trash talk with other players of like mind.

I agree knight but our opinions don't count here. I just wish the mods were more open and informative. Springing stuff like this out of the blue usually results in a backlash from the regs. I believe that holding an open discussion about it beforehand would have been a better approach, even if the decision had already been made, to facilitate a smoother transition. It's a radical change that makes the game a very different experience. I guess we just need to adjust, move forward, and hope that the changes actually do make the game better and more teamplay oriented.

I do have to say that I was particularly ticked off when I was singled out by ...bigdog... for not communicating when I've never even played with him. Little does he know that I use comms frequently and usually try to lead the team. I was the leader of a Battlefield 2 clan for a while until I stopped playing it. I was almost always the squad leader. This accusation is baseless and unbecoming of a top leader of a community such as this. I had to put a response to that somewhere since he locked the thread after posting.

And I 100% guarantee guys like astrodood here complaining about how teamplayer and real hardcore is are the LAST ONES to chime in on the mic about where they are and what their plan is.
