Best gun so far?

Auto-Shoty and melee. Auto-Shoty just scrapes anything that comes near you, and you can kind of use it to some extent at medium range, but not that well. Melee saves my life all the time, does damage, knocks zombies away from you, and helps to keep damage off you, perfect against hordes.

I love the shotty in a swarm. Huddle in a corner so they are concentrated infront of you. Then hold back from firing till the swarm is point blank. Watch your ammo and switch to your pistols to finish them off.

Shotty does poor against a Smoker and ok against a Hunter. If you can keep a object between you and them, you have a better chance.

I like them all really now, but I don't like the shotgun more than the Uzi. The Uzi is way better in hordes, and if you are smart, you can conserve ammo.

start out with the pump shotty then switch to the auto shotty or the m16 :4

My favorite set up is an Auto Shotty and x2 Pistols.
Pistols can take out just about any regular zombie at range before they can react, and the sotty can save your ass when you get Zerged.
