To get the console go to options -> Keyboard -> Developer Console Activated

Then hit the ~ key. That brings up the console.

    Type "openserverbrowser".

To find a TTP server go to your favorites tab and enter in one of the IPs. 72.233.44.146:27030, 72.233.44.146:27031, 72.233.44.146:27032, 72.233.44.146:27033

    Then hit refresh.

Until we get our servers to properly default to Advanced, use it to set it to the level you want (I better not see any TTP servers on Easy :P)

I had this problem, it was because my rates were too high (200 000)

Set it lower, to 20,000 or 30,000

    Should fix it...

This is probably Multicore Stuttering Issue. Type "Mat_queue_mode 2" in console and set Memory pool to medium, it should help.

Relax, the fix is easy. Go to option> video/graphics>advanced>turn off multi-core processes.

Many thanks to Resiki who clued me in.

    Properties: the toolbox of shortcuts

The first step is to simply right click the Left 4 Dead shortcut and open the Properties window. Regular desktop shortcuts work the same way, for those of you who haven’t had to use parameters thus far. Kids these days…
Before anyone asks, my icons have been broken since the dawn of time. And yes, that’s Cave Story. Don’t talk shit about Cave Story.

Launch options and parameters are synonymous

    — — —
Simply hit the “Set launch options…” button to bring up the following prompt:
Enter and hit OK, simple as that!

    — — —
Just punch in -serverbrowser and hit OK, you’re all set! The next time you run the game it’ll magically add the server browser option to the main menu, and allow you to easily favorite servers, locate servers you’ve recently played on and all of the other functions you’re used to in TF2 et al.
Now remember to favorite our server!
