An occurance on TTP server?
Ok.. a friend of my roomate/girlfriend/ex....whatever the hell she is (don't ask) and also a person on my steam friends, who joins me in games of L4D, and to my mind does what it takes to be a team player has mentioned that there seems to be some elitist bullshit going on.
Now.. I don't give a rat's ass if you start a friends-only lobby and want to only invite TTP forum members into the game, that's your perogative. You're playing on random servers.
But that shit BETTER not be happening on a TTP server, because that kind of bullshit is NOT what this place is about.
Now, unfortunately, ChaosOfX can't recall any names, or you'd better bet I'd be calling your ass out right now. But if I ever do witness or hear of this happening with names, bet on it that I'll report you to the L4D admins.
ChaoOfX WAS a member of the TTP Steam group, but has left it as he's been so turned off by whoever the elitish shits are. Well done on losing a potentially productive member. I even had him perusing the forums.
He's also claimed this has happened in 2142, but for that I need to make sure he was in a squad and following the rules before I make any statements over in that arena.

Re: An occurance on TTP server?
Fair enough. However, I have been invited into game where it has been "We only want TTP people here" to the point where even someone's personal friend is asked to leave to make room for a TTP er. Now, keep in mind, that was in a lobby which then went to a random lobby-picked server.. but I have seen it.
So to me, it only stands to reason that it could potentially be happening as well on the TTP server, which is why I brought it up.
Especially when people are specifically saying "This game is for TTPers only" ...and to my knowledge, ChaosOfX only has me (as far as TTP goes) on his buddy list... unless he added BobTheSane or trailhunter after playing on their team one time... and something causes me to doubt that either Bob nor trail would say "Leave this is for TTP only" ... but he DID have TTP servers on his list, as he had joined the steam group... and is, himself, from Texas, so tends to like the ping there.
But, it could very well be as you described, Quick and Fajita.

Re: An occurance on TTP server?
Have him get some names next time... I'd be really disappointed to hear TTP regs doing that to someone who is trying to help their team.
Kicking players that are trying to be teamplayers just because you want to play with you "friend" is unacceptable on TTPs servers. It's a first come first serve server and only justified kicks will be tolerated. If someone is intentionally hindering their team's progress in any way or intentionally teamkilling, get rid of them.
Otherwise, try to make another reg out of them by showing them how we play here.
Make note, if anyone is caught pulling this on TTP soil, you WILL be punished.

Any elitist attitude needs to be dropped. If you kick someone new to the servers just because you want to let so and so in, then you're no better than a punch of punks coming in thinking they can take over the servers. If I see it going on, I will not tolerate it. It is not a teamplayer attitude to reject people who you don't know.
I do prefer to play with TTPers myself, but I also enjoy bringing in new blood. I played with some guys the other day who worked well together but were not regs. They would've been kicked by those with that disgusting notion that because they're a TTP reg that somehow puts them above the rules. Disgusting :5enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Re: An occurance on TTP server?
Yeah elitism needs to stay off the server.
But if your forming a lobby its cool. Although the other day I had a friend who's an awesome L4D player be asked to leave for a TTP reg spot. He was cool with it. His name is Juror. Hopefully I'll get him onto TTP then he can be a reg and this won't happen.
