Do we have all our servers set the same way? Would it be possible to make at least one of the VS servers have tanks in it as well as the finale. That is not a normal/advanced/expert locked thing, it is something else.

Tanks do come up before the finale on vs. I was playing earlier this week and my team actually had two tanks within a few minutes of each other. The other team was only half way towards the lock house.

Angel, tanks are all random. There is no controlling them in any server-side manner.

There are some server side tweaks related to gameplay / damage / occurances that you can do that don't involve turning on cheats or changing the difficulty. I haven't really looked into them yet so I'm not entirely sure what you can and can't do. But I assume she's referring to them.

There would almost have to be something, as I've been on servers where you don't see a single tank until initiating the end-game event on the finale levels. And on others where the tanks show up super early (on a consistant basis) on every map.. that can't ALL be the "randomization" of the director. This all on VS.

they are random when they show up but the frequency in the round is not as random.

Some servers you get can get 2 a round, 1 a round or none a round.

While playing on TTP, I can't recall ever having a tank outside of the finales...so I was just asking.

That's honestly related to how much the director feels like ass-fucking you. From watching things in the console, the Director has varying moods that are switched around occasionally depending on how well a team is doing, if they're in one place too long, if it's the finale, etc. Tanks in vs seem to occur randomly but can happen more so if one team is doing significantly better than the other.

I would love to believe that, but I don't. I have played on serveral servers several times and I see a difference in the actual servers...

If it was a round or two, I'd say, ok, it's the directors "mood" But there are servers where it is consistent, no tanks anywhere, anytime, with the exception of the finale.

And I don't buy that the director basing it on a survivor team's speed, skill or how well they're doing either, with the exception of a bare 1% of the time at best.

If it IS all the director.. well.. that thing's fucked and needs serious fixing.
