if that was a problem, it would have been so from day 1, don't you think?
After the update I had to go turn it back off.

I know I had it disabled in the past.

Double check the in game advanced video options for multicore rendering being enabled.

With it on the game stutters horribly, turning it off solves the issue.
perhaps, since according to the net graph stats output in-game, the CPU/RAM resources on the server itself, the settings in the CFG and commandline.......everything is as it should be.

    sigh...multicore rendering......sigh.

L4D on ttp has been running good for me minus the random disconnects between maps sometimes. I would say that rendering even on your quad is not a good idea with L4d. It has multiple threads and if one of those even for a little bit had to wait on your rendering it could make it hiccup (in theory). Though as you did say you haven't had an issue before. I would test with it off and see what happens.

    Later,

Yeh, the server runs great 99% of the time. It does still drop games pretty regularly. I suppose I should start keeping a log of those times.

Well, in addition to last night big, when I played today, everything in my view was REALLY jumpy. Might be the multicore thing.
I'm pretty sure Multicore was added after the game launched, too.
Me: "But the Gunslinger is so much more fun..."
Langrad: "We're here to win, not to..."
    Me: "Have fun?" "Hahaha"

I actually noticed the jumpiness when playing last nite. Turned off multi-core and everything was back to normal.
