Thread: L4D2 Newegg Tournament

Ok, I'll be officially registering the team hopefully on monday. If you plan on joining the team, please send me a pm, and I will start running VS mode games so we can get a lot of practice in. For now, I'm just going to try to get as many people interested as possible, and when the post the tournament schedule, I will build the team from there.

Just some advice in case you didn't know, they'll probably use some mod that will limit health packs to the ones you start out with and have a tank and/or a witch in every level. At least you can still find pills in any level. The only exception to the health pack restriction is the finale where you do get your second set. Comp mods like FrusMod and ProMod typically remove medkits entirely with exceptions of ones that simply can't be removed, and ones at the finales.

Worth noting that virtually every comp mod forces a tank on every single map (when available... tanks literally cannot spawn on some maps) and usually either outright removes T2's or at least limits them to one per gun in the game world.

No idea what mod(s) they'll be running, though.

If you can't find a server that runs one of the comp mods on it (the only way I've been able to find them is via hopping onto IRC and looking for people with their own server needing people for a pickup game), I guess the next best thing would be to simply not mess with medkits and defibs except during the finale (and then you only get four.)

This assumes they'll even be running a comp mod - I'd think they'd mention it somewhere if they're planning on it, since versus running a comp mod is hugely, hugely different than vanilla versus.

Yeah, so far they haven't given any details. Not sure if they're doing that to keep any of the competitors on their toes or what.
