And as for me personally, why do I think I can kick ass in co-op even if I have never played? Because I know how to shoot things, and that transcends games. I know how to follow orders, and that transcends games. But most importantly I know how to play as a team, and teams win, not individuals who think they are the 1337sauce because they got some ribbon. :P

You must be mistaken Frag because people that play primarily vs can't understand the complexities of co-op.

"running through" any campaign on expert has 99% to do with the director being nice in that moment, and being able to capitalize on it. Not in being hard core mother fuckers.

I don't give a fuck if I ordered you to stand on a box for the entire round. There are 100's here that would do it. Would they question it? maybe. Would they wonder why? Sure. Would the discuss how they don't wish to stand on the box? Perhaps. Would I listen? Yes.

But they'll be doing all of that on the fucking box, first.

We can get as big and showoff as you want. But the bottom line is, I win this, becuase you said in teh first lines of your complaint "bigdog said don't eject, and I ejected".

I'm not claiming to be good in vs. I'm saying you suck in coop. Feel free to start a thread about how much we coop's suck in vs, and we'll see how that plays out

Period, you're going to be slower, weaker, and more of a liability than even a halfway decent coop gamer. Only those who play a good deal of both can make such a transition...and even then...the bad habits of vs are still showing.

VS gives great habits of killing the SI fast and trying to get rid of the commons so you can zoom through the map. In my experience, everyone in co-op wants to take it slow and get all those goodies. In VS you have to be fast with what you do every time you do it or those SI will be spawning and getting another attack on you. If anything, VS makes you stronger, faster, and less of a liability than a pure co-op player.

And as Civil said, VS defnitely makes you listen much more intently than co-op. In co-op, you listen for a horde or an SI spawning a mile away. In VS, you listen for SI spawning near you going in for an instant and brutal attack, making you have to react much faster and be on your toes at all times. Boomers will not simply run out into the open and stand there for a good 5 seconds for you to get close. Hunters wil not crouch the entire way to you giving away their position. Chargers will not charge 50 feet away from you or just instantly try running up for punches. Smokers will not stand there waiting for you to shoot before you pull. Jockies will not run up solo. Spitters will not spit at just you in an open area. VS prepares you for the most devastating attacks, making the SI in co-op nearly uselss if everyone works together.

Overall, VS will make you a better player alltogether than co-op will. I played only VS until this whole thing came up, and I have proven to be more versatile than co-op only players. So have several other VS players.

If you just gave VS a days worth of playing time and got the feel for it, things would go better. Get good in VS, you can get good in it all.

And then beneath all of this is just plain out skill, of course. :3

And yet when vs players take it "slow" and still win you say it was luck. It's "playing the game over and over till it fits your needs", and that's a load of shit. Everyone that's won any expert does it cause they can. Does luck have any sway? yes, but it's never the deciding factor. It's good players that make a difference, players that know what's ahead and know how to handle said situation. Example: I've been playing DC on Expert by myself the last week or so, and I've already found the best way to beat the 3rd event is with a chainsaw. Get your guys on the scaffolding, light the gas\molos if you have any, pipe\bile if you have one, then hop down and rip the zombies apart while the other three cover. That event took us 3x as long as it's taken me and one of the main differences is I was using melee.

Just as with any other game it is situational awareness. If you tried to go B every round as Ts on D2 you will fail. If you try to just attack/defend one particular flag every round in BF2/2142 you will fail. If you try to run every time in L4D you will fail. If you try to walk every time in L4D you will fail. People that can adapt and overcome win games, no matter what game, not those that think a certain plan works every time no matter what.

For the most part that's absolutely true, but the more I play L4D2 the more I realize that there's plenty in th game that is repetitive. Hordes tend to spawn in the same general time\area, SI tend to be retarded as fuck, and tanks can't seem to run around certain objects so fast. You can still basically use the same "plan" for every map and be perfectly fine.

Meh, I don't know about the other, but I am sick to death of VS, with the exception of on The Passing, currently. Jesus Christ, when will Realism Versus come out? I want to play a fair game.
