Thread: ArmA 2?

I've been thinking about picking this up but after reading through some of these comments I'm not so sure now.

Is there anything positive about this game at all? The reviews weren't all that bad, but I tend to trust ya'll more than critics when it comes to gaming.

You may want to get it for the PR mod that's coming out for this game. It'll be like PR but with better graphics.

First and foremost keep in mind that this is a simulation game. If you think PR is too slow then I would suggest against this one since it makes PR look like BFBC2. The level of detail is insane and it takes a pretty good CPU to run, not just a graphics card.

The PR mod should be a good thing for the game, as will the upcoming stand alone operation arrowhead 'expansion' (you can just buy arrowhead by itself, but you can add Arma2 standard units to arrowhead if you have both games).

Steam has a demo, but keep in mind that it is not optimized at all, they only optimized the full game so it actually uses a bit more processing than the full game. It will give you an idea of what to expect as far as the gameplay though.
