Re: L4D Blog: The Invisible Tank
Not to be "Oooo New! Shiney!" But I want L4D3 already - or give us new good campaigns, and weapons, Si options etc.... The mutations are a nice change but we need more than 5 campaigns to keep us happy. The Passing is ok, but give us at least 4 level campaigns! I love how slow Valve works, it's like watching a stoned turtle trying to cross the road....

Re: L4D Blog: The Invisible Tank
The problem with the custom campaigns is that however good they may be we never get around to hosting them here, for some reason.
Seriously, I dont understand a few things:
-TF2 was as popular, if not more than, as L4D1, but they didn't crank out a sequel for that instantly did they?
-Valve has spent a ridiculous amount of time fucking around with TF2 and I hear they're going to continue with even MORE class-specific updates
-They have neglected all their other franchises in favor of TF2, ie where the fuck is Episode 3?
-If they keep up the class-specific updates they'll have to dedicate half their fucking company to balance the damn thing daily as each weapon becomes overpowered with each nerf

Re: L4D Blog: The Invisible Tank
I honestly think all of the class updates and other content updates in between have ruined TF2. The game was just fine the way it was before the class update thing, and while some updates (fatty, medic, pyro, soldier) make sense and have added a lot to the game, most of the others are just dumb.
I think a large part of why I don't play so much these days is because there are so many new ridiculous items (and more being added constantly) that I'd have to go read a fucking encylopedia just to understand what the fuck is going on now.

Re: L4D Blog: The Invisible Tank
Half of their problem is they continue to listen to the TF2 community.. and generally speaking the ones that whine loudest get heard.. so they buff/nerf or add a new weapon/item that is either over or underpowered, then ahve to go back and buff/nerf or add another item/weapon that is over or underpowered to attempt to balance it, so on, so forth, rinse, repeat.
Wraith, as far as us hosting custom campaigns.. the criteria for them is stringent, the testing extensive.. because we aren't going to host just any piece of shit modded map.

Re: L4D Blog: The Invisible Tank
We should probably be testing new campaigns more often, then! I seem to remember that we found a couple of very good ones in L4D, right? I never did have an opportunity to really play them with TPG because L4D2 was just around the corner (and I think I was busy with WoW or something at the time), but that should be proof enough that there are quality customs out there.
How are we going on the whole "L4D maps in L4D2" thing? They feel "off", but my quick little run-throughs (on Easy) showed me that they're just fine in functionality.
