I love terran. I've been a terran player since I first played the first starcraft and almost always go mech.

Besides the cost problems in mech there is another great problem: Mobility. Mech is extremely slow to react. When they attack your bases, don't take them head-on if you don't have to. Use the opportunity to attack their base. The best two advantages you have as a zerg player are the creep (if you're spread out you'll want to spread it between your bases) and the nydas worms. With the creep, you can react quickly to mid-game attacks and then push your advantage. With nydas worms, you can attack behind the terran's base in the late game. What's most important in a ZvT match is to keep harassing/scouting your opponent in the early game so you can switch up your strategy quickly.

I'm sure you know all that already... but I thought I'd put my 10 cents in.
This. Probably the best response to a meching Terran is speed and mobility. The terran will always be limited by the speed of his tanks and setting up time for siege. Simply exploit that with lots of creep for increased movement, and/or nydus worms. Then don't attack him head on, but circumvent his choke points if possible. It's a lot harder on some maps than others, but it's the best overall strategy I've seen.

You know, I hear this all the time and it's just stupid. People always say Terran is immobile, but they are one of the best harassing races in the game. Hellions, thor drops, bio drops, reapers, banshees, tanks on cliffs, Raven auto turrets. It is ridiculous. Terran can turtle up their main and make a huge death army while constantly harassing from every angle with medivacs and hellions.

And all this ridiculousness about attacking their base when they push out is just stupid. You really think you are going to win a base trade race against a Terran? Zerg bases are only a handful of buildings while a Terran has a huge maze of buildings, some of which can lift off. Base trading should not be a central part of any strategy, period.

And only mech is "immobille". Bio is super fast and still very powerful with proper unit control to minimize any baneling damage.

Also you can't win a base race with terrans since the most often used build used to deal with mech at plat is ling infestor and ultra's (which I treid in my practise match) all that terran has to do is lift off and they will auto win. Also immobility doesn't really matter if a terran leaves a token force of tanks and a thor (or even just a bunch of turrets) is more than enough to beat off anything short off an all out attack. Meanwhile terrans have full harassing optins. with igniters all you need is 2 hellions to kill drones.

From the match wraith and I played I did learn a few things such as uch as using a few infestors to keep a watch for the mech ball to move out and to wait till they get about half way and run him over with my army of lings and ultra's. But against a terran player who's harassing along with pushing early I won't have time to get 2/2 ultra's with armor and get 7 of them on field. But it does give me some ideas. Also I loved IT bombing your min line while your tanks fried your SCV's and before that using ITS to fry your units before hand and I almost got the turret you were setting up too.

Ultralisks are absolutely Zerg's best answer to massed mech, but they're expensive, and if you only have one or two, you're really probably just gonna be better off with those extra roaches instead. The reason mech mashes zerg so hard is because it gives the Terran excellent harassing ability without sacrificing effectiveness of the main force.

Pretty much and not to mention their harassing unit eats up all the extra min they have due to mules. I really think one of the major things that is wrong with terrans is just how well they were made and zerg right now is some kind of frankenstien monster thats a mismatch of new units and old units and they key units (in the case of reliably dealing with mech the lurker) were either removed or nerfed. back in SC1 Dark Swarm allowed zerg to press hard on defensive positions now its ironic that terrans got DS in the form of PDD's. Dare I ask why terrans need help being more defensive than they already are. I think the Dev's were on crack when they made the zerg in SC2 and were running out of ideas because they used them all on Toss and Terrans IMHO.

Re: you know what I can't wait for?

there are serveral youtube commentary channels I watch:
    http://www.youtube.com/user/PsyStarcraft
    http://www.youtube.com/user/HDstarcraft
    http://www.youtube.com/user/HuskyStarcraft
    http://www.youtube.com/AskJoshy
    http://www.youtube.com/user/iCCupTV
There are hours of games from the beta and there are others such as Day9's daily.

Most of the vids are still from beta as not a lot of commentators have started doing uploads from release but during beta 2 there were mainly bug fixes and not much balance changes.
