Question About Grappling

So as an Assassin I've been counter-grappled quite successfully by Snipers, Supports, and especially Assaults. How are they doing it? What key do you press to launch someone across the stadium?

I remapped my keys. Is "E" the default "Melee" button? I've been trying to use it without much success.

Snipers and tanks have a dedicated grapple skill that will launch you as they upgrade it. Every class has a graple on their 2ndary gun's right click. The assult's charge gains a grapple effect at level 3.

What I want to know is grapple priority. Is it latency based? Or do some classes grapple faster then others?

As for grapple speed: from what I noticed the animation to grapple is more like a scan to see if there is a target in range. All grapples seem to be almost instantaneous if there is a target in range when you activate them.
