If you think there is malicious play involved then you bring that to the attention of the admins for a problem player, not the system in place that he's taking advantage of.

How do you prove foul play? You can't....it isn't hard to hit your power switch. It is a cheap and dirty tactic but hey if the rules in place don't limit it then you can't expect that no one will abuse it. I'm not complaining about anyone in particular, I just learned of a loophole.

If we can't pause the game then I don't think SV should be allowed to heal - bleeding out or otherwise - because the current system is flawed. In my opinion the only way SV should be allowed to heal is if SI call a hold. If SI have SV on the ropes with 3 bleeding out, SI then lose a player, they have the opportunity to just play it out against 3 bleeding out or call a hold and let the SV heal.

I will also say that SI shouldn't be able to kill anyone off in the midst of a hold unless its the SV who call it. This is, of course, much harder to enforce so until we can pause the game expect abuse. Don't be naive.

Edit- By the way, although my view comes from our game last night I know there was no foul play. I was giving y'all a hard time because the cynic in me saw something dirty but I'm aware Andy isn't going to go afk just so you could heal. What I did see is a flaw that can be abused and my concern is if this loophole is used in the tournament.

    Main reason

    - You can't prove foul play, unless you see it repeated.

Flip that over... Ok, SI team, our spawns are out of whack, quick, let's call a hold because so and so is "afk" (quick, so and so go afk!) so we can get a good attack set up and get our spawns in sync.

Keep in mind, also, that the hold, much like the "r" before starting, is a courtesy rule and not enforced. So really, to hold or not to hold, and what to do while in a hold, is up to each individual lobby.. but you bet your ass that if a hold is called and I'm black and white and bleeding.. I'll be healing. No way am I gonna sit there black and white at 1 HP while the infected team get's an attack all set up and ready for both teams to "r".

However, make sure you know which server you're in.. as servers 1 and 2 both have the !pause and !unpause function for holds.. no bleed and no set up.

..as for the tourney.. yeah, I think there'll have to be some rules set up to cover some of these things.. and it may be that we'll need to either specifically use servers 1 and 2, or add the !pause function to 3 and 4.

As for regular games, I dont see a team of 4 regulars that were randomized to a team all on the same page of taking advantage of it.

    Rule #4...

    4) Each team is allowed ONE hold in the case of a player dropping or huge ping spike. If it happens more than once, too bad. Deal with it and move on.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

Didn't set a time limit though... I just figured "reasonable" was good enough.
