Inviting people/ Reserving spots
So I have ran into this several times. I start a lobby and invite people. Then they invite people. Meanwhile I have 2 more that are on the way, but can't get in because Joe Flow had people come in and now its full. Most of the time when I invite someone they are leaving another game. I have joined lobby's with 6 or 7 people in it to be told this slot is reserved. I have had people say okay be there in 5 mins will you save a spot for me, then 10 mins later they show up.
To me the lobby leader should start the invites, and the others can invite after they ask the leader " is it okay for me to invite someone".
I feel bad for people I invite to play and they leave CS etc.. to play and they can't get in. I also do not think its right for the lobby to sit idle for 5-10 mins with open slots. If you want to play then get your tail in the lobby. Someone else might be ready to go. Tons of time is waisted waiting on so & so. The game takes long enough as is. So & So OTW is one thing but so & so will be here in 5 or 10 mins doesn't cut it. 1st come 1st server. This isn't a restruant where you make reservations. Its a game and we all want to play and not waste time waiting around for people. A lot of people do not play this game because they do not like waiting so long for people to join.
So if I invite you and you can't join up right then, I will not reserve a slot.

Re: Inviting people/ Reserving spots
I agree that the lobby leader should dictate how invites go but there should be a countdown until open invites are allowed; obviously no one wants to wait 10 minutes or longer.
I suggest allowing a maximum of 2 slots to reserve and the rest free for anyone to join. I also mentioned the countdown to open invites as well. This way you, the lobby leader, can get a couple friends in for sure and other people who are just looking to get in a game can as well. If it is always invite only that is unfair to people who enjoy the TeamPlayer servers but can never play because they aren't invited.
Regardless, whatever is agreed upon will end up as an unwritten rule so I wouldn't expect any sort of consistency.

Re: Inviting people/ Reserving spots
Lobby leader determines whether someone can reserve or not. Simple. If you are lobby leader and have a couple otw and it fills up before they show, then you can ask the last two to leave... That said... If I join a lobby and I'm sitting there with 4 empty slots for 10-15 minutes... I'm going to start inviting. I joined up to play. Not sit there twiddling my thumbs while another game ends and those players get in. If you don't want someone inviting in that circumstance, then let them know the lobby is going to be idle for a while. That will give them a chnce to leave so they aren't wasting time.
