Re: L4D2 Terminology Guide
Unless it's in the next room or what not. There's lots of times where teams miss good useful items that would have helped along the way. I guess it depends on how far you have to go for the items. If its on the path or a room or two away then I tend to be ok with it, but if you go too far I'll say forget it.

Re: L4D2 Terminology Guide
... You're always rushing in VS, especially without mods. Medpacks and high item density should mean you don't need to shop to begin with. If you stop to shop, ironically you'll lose more health than if you'd just kept going.
Not that health levels matter in stock VS beyond "did you make it or not?"

Re: L4D2 Terminology Guide
Hardly, continuous rushing only rarely works. On most maps rushing will slow you down even more. It happens every game, team rushes only to get hit slightly by SI and re-horded cause they can't kill common and rush at the same time. Then bam, you hit a tank. Rush stopped.

Re: L4D2 Terminology Guide
When you're rushing it should really only be done while all the SI are down and sitting through the respawn timer. One the SI are able to spawn again though, it's time to be a bit more cautious. Sometimes you can even rush a few seconds after the SI's have the ability to spawn, but you better make sure you're clear of common and things like that before the SI get their hit off.

Re: L4D2 Terminology Guide
I agree, the only reason you would try to rush would be to get past a choke point which the SI was hoping to be able to hit at again. Rushing up to block spawns is useful sometimes but always be cautious and not get to far ahead of your team. In reality tho its really only trying to sprint ahead because after you get far enough you have to start focusing on the next hit.

Re: L4D2 Terminology Guide
Rushing is very subjective to the teams, health levels, items, and location.
A good rushing technique is to bait the initial attack, clear it, rush through chokes until you reach a defensible location, stop, kill off the horde while in a secure position, bait 2nd attack, repeat.
What ends up fucking over a lot of rushers is when they just continue their rush headlong until they are hit. This is because they end up with a lot of horde on their ass, usually more split up than a methodical team, and tend to be a lot easier to hit because their movement is predictable.
The key to good rushing is to end your rush in a defensible location. This allows you to escape the extra damage from moving slower, while removing the downside of rushing by ending up in an easily defensible location. If the SI attack you, it should be easy to clear in your good position. If they don't attack you, they are giving up even more time without a hit, and allowing you to clear off all the horde.

Re: L4D2 Terminology Guide
!pause - pause the game for a short period of time when someone has timed out
!unpause - get back to the game so they can join back ( if they timed out ).
It is not possible for someone to connect when the game is paused.was one of the few that I could think of that I have not seen in the forums yet.
Oh and one more :
nr- waiting on green to get loaded into game
