Here are some console commands that allow you to customize your crosshair color.
I was not a big fan of the default color so I did some research. You can adjust the color based on RBG scaling 0-255 for R-red, B-blue, and G-green. You can add these lines to your autoexec.cfg if you have one, or just type them into console. The following is an example of how to make a green crosshair (my favorite for dark maps like l4d2 has). If you want red just change cl_crosshair_red from 0 to 255 and make blue and green 0. You can also make combinations like magenta--> red 255, blue 150, green 0....and so on. Just play around with it until you get a color you like.
cl_crosshair_alpha 255 /allows for customization
cl_crosshair_red 0
cl_crosshair_green 255
cl_crosshair_blue 0
{Note: cl_colorblind must be set to 0 or your settings will not work}
Some other commands:
cl_crosshair_dynamic 0 turns off crosshair animation when firing, not neccessary if you like the animation, 1 is on
cl_colorblind 1 turns crosshair for color blind people on. It is white with a black outline, stands out pretty good. 0 is off.

Did I say that or was I just thinking it?
