If you are unable to get your game to start (the logo splash screen pops up and disappears with no game start), go to the BRINK: Agents of Change store page on Steam and hit the INSTALL button.

That's what happened to me, and I finally found the problem. I was sad because for half of QuakeCon I couldn't play and I wanted to.

Also...

If you are having trouble getting Brink to find ANY servers over the internet, there is a fix...

You need to start your own server in "Listen" mode, let the server run for a few minutes, then exit your server, go back to server search, and it should now populate.

I was having this problem while at Quakecon... couldn't find any internet games. I found this fix over on the Steam forums and it worked like a charm.
