Re: Pax east
He was, sorry everyone else, the only person I saw that played that had a consistent stroke, follow through, and stayed down on the ball through the shot. I don't know his pool background but I would bet that he's either had some training, or has played a whole lot of pool in his day.
And everyone loses one now and then. I lost my first game to SourceSkills. Granted it was because I scratched on the eight attempting a cross-table bank... But that's the way shit rolls now and then.
I'd say Al would be ranked a high 4 working on a 5 in the APA. Average is a 3 to 4. He's above average.Alundil liked this post

Re: Pax east
(usually that whole staying down through the entire shot isn't something you just pick up either. It's taught. Whether it's through watching other people play or someone actually teaching you doesn't matter.)
The whole key to good pool play is consistency. Consistent stroke. Consistent stance. etc. Every single time you get down to shoot, everything you do should be identical to the last shot and the one after. Once you can do that, then you can start adding things like english, banks, jumps, masse, etc. But without those consistency fundamentals... you'll never be GOOD.
