Contract ran out with Hilton. I've been reading about this since last Quakecon. Likely price negotiations. Hilton probably wants more money, since Quakecon can be quite the hassle. There were some issues a few years back with vandalism, underage drinking, and even some sexual assault (yes, no more Pedobear for the past few years).
It was at the Gaylord back in 2009, or whenever TTP had their booth at Quakecon. It was my first year, so I did not attend the BYOC, but I recall there being more space available in the BYOC area than they actually had desks/seats setup.
I know the dates are going to make it tough for some families to go this year since a lot of kiddos will be in school, but that is better for those of us that will be rushing for BYOC passes .

Re: Quakecon 2017
interesting stuff. All I know is that the gaylord had the best expo since I have been going to QC and I hope this year will repeat that. TPG won't have a booth of course but still there is a lot of room there so there is hope. I also heard the last time they had it at the gaylord there was a scheduling issue and they couldn't run QC and the other con they had going on at the same time.
