Thread: San Antonio Car Pool

So, who all is going from San Antonio to QuakeCon this year and are you wanting to car pool?

I would love to car pool, save some money. All throw in some money for the gas up and back.

Also, is anyone that is going from SA to QC experienced in driving an RV? If we had someone that has some experience (it's an older 80s RV, a George (or something like that, can't remember the name)), I might have a kind of interesting way on getting there from here to Waco (car the rest of the way, tow the car by trailer behind the RV). The gas for the RV getting up there is going to be spent no matter what, so I wouldn't make anyone pitch in money for that gas. Let me know and we can get into specifics.

I have a small suv(20mpg) or a small car(32+mpg) I could probably do myself and 2 in the suv myself and 1 in the car. Thats for comfort for the long drive. Both can legally hold 5 although we had 7 in the blazer last year.

And it would be funny to load up a bunch of TPG folks and pile out in front of the anatole from an old RV...

That would be interesting......I wonder if the Anatole (I haven't made my reservations yet) or any nearby hotels would allow me to just park in their lot for the duration of the event...probably not, but would be a cheap way to of staying up there....what I was initially thinking was just drop it off in Waco (where it would be staying for the next two years) on the way to QC, then drive the rest of the way in a car/SUV

We could rent a trailer for on the way up there to tow whatever vehicle we go the rest of the way on.

I'm starting a new job on Monday so I probably won't have the time off between now and QC to actually go. If things change though I'll let you all know so we can try to plan things out a little better.
