Player
This is "Can't Clutch This". No REAL complaints but I was asked to change my name when I started using my old one, "Player". I asked politely why in admin chat, and no response. I've started playing TPG under that name and a record showed I've used that name for nearly exactly 3 (full 24 hour) days. I made sure to check hl.stats. Just curious how it is "offensive" and why admins from before didn't warn/kick me then.
Thanks.

Re: Player
I believe having "Player" as a name is akin to having a blank name. As to why you weren't kicked/warned before, it's a judgment call and each admin uses their own discretion.

Re: Player
I don't see how Player is akin to having a blank name.
Player is a name, a default name to prevent blank names.
I understand you can't have names that involve racism, drugs, etc but I fail to see how Player offends anyone.

Re: Player
Back before Steam Community integration, the default name in CSS was "unnamed" and admins enforced a rule that said a person must change their name to something else because multiple people would end up having "unnamed", "unnamed(2)", etc. It made things unnecessarily difficult (like calls, using menus, knowing who is who, etc.).
This might have been the reasoning in your situation. I seriously doubt anyone was 'offended' by your name.Last edited by Madmax (Grape); 01-10-12 at 10:17 AM.
We can do better.

Re: Player
This is exactly why. Obviously the name isnt offensive but it just makes it harder for admins to do their job. Changing your name s fairly easy and it looks like you already had a 'non-default' name to use.
Appreciate you bringing this to the forums and not in game. We discuss matters like this here, so now that its all cleared up, just make sure to change your name.
