admin enforcement to far...

There's been a lot of talk lately about admin powers in the CS:S forum, I'm sure many have seen it. With that topic so fresh in our minds (great post Ninja.bs btw), when is admin enforcement too far?

Is telling people the gun they are to use too far? Using and succeeding with a silenced usp only and go 2:1 k:d ratio the majority of the map is not allowed and also a bannable offense in the eyes of a certain admin. I was instructed along with my friend to stop using the silenced usp. I responded in mm1 that we were using a gun allowed by server rules and were succeeding with them (both positive and both upper half off the server and contributing to our team winning on an ESEA proven T sided map). There was no reply by anyone - admin or regular.

Who determines the allowed guns? If say, an admin instructs me to use the p90 will I be banned if I do not obliged? I don't particularly like that gun but as I've seen today, if you don't follow the admins warning of what gun you are or aren't allowed to use you will be banned (yes I was banned).

Is the usp not deemed competitive for this server, as I can assure you that the auto sniper, all forms of shotguns, ump, para, bullpup and krieg are not competitive guns and should also be banned as well as anyone who uses them if this is the case.

I was also using nades and armor along with a defuse kit (I'm assuming those are allowed) as well as night vision. I didn't always buy night-vision but with the CT's winning (thus I wasn't needed to drop many M4's), and buying no gun I was pretty rich in game.

I honestly think it's outrageous for an admin to determine the guns players are to use or not use. If there's an issue of gun selection, I'm sure you can ban the gun or limit it outright as you've done with the awp. For them to determine this factor on their own accord, with their own agenda is an abuse of their power.

Seriously, i mean we were dropping m4's for our teammates, we were getting large amounts of kills and sacrificing ourselves so that our team can get the defusals. Yet you let people who buy the mac10 to stay in the game and let them free roam? Give me a break, at least the usp, even silenced, is used in competitive play, we were helping our team and winning rounds.

You're overreacting. Admins will NEVER ban according to your choice of weapon. Ira has said this very statement in the forums. Search for it. Any admin scolding, or punishing others for their choice of weapon, would be reprimanded.

I will say that you sure do like crying foul a lot, when it comes to perceived admin abuse.

You just stated that an admin would never ban according to your weapon of choice however moneyb and I were just banned for that reason.

You stated that ira has confirmed that fact, and I believe you and the point of this topic was for the banning admin to be reprimanded, so please honor your word.

You stated I'm crying a lot about admin abuse but by your very own post, I was just abused and unjustly banned for using silenced usp the entirety of the map.

Also, since your passive aggressively bring up my last admin abuse topic, in which an admin stated there is no way to determine if the call was ran correctly. You guys do realize the caller, a respected member of this community stated it was ran correctly with logs that both I and others have seen. You should read the "call for change" thread some more.

p.s. I actually agree with you that calling what your doing in freezetime of the round is acceptable but also smart. others should do it imo. perhaps type instead of speech if others are worried about disruption.

I wasn't there, but I have one question. Do YOU, as a pretty talented player, feel running around "splinter cell" was the most effective way YOU could help your team, or were you just fucking around to have a good time?

We are looking into the issue, however, even based on what you have posted I am inclined to think that there was more screwing around on your parts then trying to win rounds. The fact that you were getting kills means nothing - what was the score in the game?

This is my second. Also if you aren't an admin you have no business responding to this thread. Please read up on the stickies as I wouldn't want you to be reprimanded as well.

6. To all forum members reading these threads, only post if you have pertinent information in being a witness to the incident . Any other posts derail the process and will be punished accordingly.

You cant be banned for this as far as i know, However you can be banned for "making a scene" or questioning an admins decision in game, thus causing a disruption to the game which would result in you being removed to handle it here.
