    Maybe a draining battery much like Half Life/Half Life 2, in which using the flash light drains the battery, but turning it off will allow the battery to recharge?

    If it was a case of "use once then that's it, buddy!" that would suck. Unless there was some kind of passive NGV or something, then it'd rock!
