Thread: got kicked and banned

first i would like to say that i have enjoyed playing on the server for a few months now and i have never had a problem, now that being said i was kicked from the bf2 server for not joining a squad and i had to sit in timeout for a minute. the message said join a squad and support the team, i had 12 kills and 7 deaths. so i waited my time, joined back in and told the admin that "i appreciate the time out that i was put in, it was very professional and incalled for". so i join a squad, my commander isn't saying anything or helping the team out and about 2-3 min later i get banned. i'm sorry, that seems like a blatent misuse of power by the admin. in the few months that i have been on here i have never seen anything like this happen and i hope it never does again. if it comes to the point that i am banned from your server, i will not support it and i will leave yall well enough alone. i do look forward to a reply and having a discussion with someone about this, as adults.

no warnings were given, there have been several times when i haven't joined a squad and i've never been kicked. i don't know what sparked the problem

no, i have no reason to rethink anything. yes there is a scrolling marque, but can you honestly tell me that you pay attention to that when your playing. the only time i really read that is when i die and i look to see who and with what weapon. i am not going to beg.
#3. Why should you be unbanned?
We're not asking for an apology, unless you got banned for being a real jerk, which we typically don't do. A good answer would be "I should have been more clear in explaining how I made that kill, instead of just saying 'I'm wall hacking right now. Eat it, admin!'. In the future, I will keep in mind that this is not my server, and next time I am questioned as to the level of my skill and playing style, I will be more upfront with my explanations."

i have not been a jerk, i expressed an opinion for how i felt. this is an adult game last time i checked and i have the right to be treated like one, and not kicked and banned for stating an opinion. i guess it boils down to i was wrong and the admin should have been the bigger person and not seek revenge by flexing his mighty muscle and kick because he felt insulted. i believe the golden rule applies here as it does in real life.

Mr. Scivally i can appreciate your concern for the misuse of this forum, but i feel that you have taken a hostile attitude towards the posting i have placed here. i have followed the rules of the forum, i haven't called anyone a name that would be considered inappropriate, i am stating the fact that i was banned because he got his feelings hurt. i would like to know how many other people who were not in squads were banned at the same time i was. if i wasn't the only one then i will appologise for the inital post, but i still feel that i have just as much right as the next person to voice my concern without a hostile response. ok so i played without a squad and got kicked, i replied to the situation with how i felt, there was no name calling no blatent disrespect, just voicing an opinion. i know that an admin can respond in the chat part of the game and an explination or a warning would have been nice. i have had admin powers in this game before, i know what can and can't be done.

You were not banned for not being in a squad. You were banned for disrespecting the admin after you were kicked for not being in a squad. If you want to hang out on your own go find another server to do it in. I did not kick you, but I did ban you for being a smart ass. And from what I have seen in this topic by you claiming that I am "just flexing my muscle" it looks like I was correct in doing so. If you have a problem with the admin kicking you, and no it was not me, for not being in a squad that is your problem, not the admins. There were other players kicked, but none of them came back being a dick, so none of them were banned. Is that explained enough for you?

i have no problem with being kicked, it happens. and i truly have no problem with you, even though you have made this personal. i do have a problem with being banned for stating at best was a mild insult. i come here with a problem hoping to get it resolved and i am insulted and attacked repeatively. your avatar states, Honor, Duty, Respect. i see no honor in the way you treated me, and i am certainly feeling a lack of respect for the situation and for myself. as for duty, as i can't recall playing with you i cannot account for it and i will not lie about it.

Jeddi..... you're not the first person that administrative action has had to be taken with. With your own experience, I'm sure you have had to deal with the hostility that such actions generate.

We have found it easier for everyone to just circumvent the entire tirade and cut off the offender at the knees before they can get started and just give them a ban. What typically start starts as just an exasperated expression of their frustration frequently leads to long tirades of what my mom did to donkeys while my brother was involved in some way I am still not clear on. 90% of the time, it plays out like that.

The 1st responsibility is to the players in the game. Remove the disruption and let it be brought here. Which is what is playing out here right now. I'd have to go back and re-read, but I had thought you were unbanned. Personally, I say lets leave it at that. I just don't see a case for abuse yet. I won't say it isn't there, I just don't see it. Just S.O.P. that many admins have learned through experience.

Or you could come to 2142, we have cooler weapons anyway. ;)
