The Imperium is most certainly shocked at the accusations that we would deliberately conspire with another nation to attack our closest ally. While I can assure you all that no plan exists within the Imperial military to conduct any kind of offensive action against the Draki or the Cenobites, and that there is no plan to do such with the Joseph Coalition, we do believe that an Imperial official may be responsible for the incident.

We have kept this under wraps for the past few months, but I think it pertinent to reveal this fact now. The southern provinces of the Imperium have been threatening secession if not granted full governmental autonomy. Naturally we have rejected their demands, as doing otherwise would only fragment the Imperium. We therefore believe that this incident may be the result of a possible alliance between the Joseph Coalition and a representative of this secessionist movement.

We are most concerned about this, and I assure we will get to the bottom of this. And as a final warning to the Joseph Coalition, we will not tolerate any attempts to induce a civil war within the Imperium.
