Don't believe in Global Warming?
I say let the damn ice caps melt, it could even help the earth, sure people will get killed. I think the water would bring a change for crops and other things and if the earth dose flood beyond high elevations and everyone dies, theirs nothing we can do about it anyway, the o-zone is far to damaged and we can't help it or do something to fix and heal it.

The most the water could rise if all ice on Earth melts is about 215 feet. Meaning the planet will look like this:

In addition, with the weight of the glaciers removed from the landmasses, such as Greenland, would rise higher than the water and have a coastline remarkably close to what it has now. Antarctica would also rise but would still be mostly covered, while the US loses a good amount of the Gulf Coast and San Fransisco would sit at the mouth of an inland sea, the Amazon would become more of a giant bay than a river and Japan loses pretty much all of it's lowlands and becomes a mountain range sticking out of the ocean...
Damaging, but not world ending on it's own.
Oh and... no matter what, no scientist says that human action could cause that level of melting.

it makes little to know sense to ignore the threat of global warming of the current data that leans to us using less and conserving the planet and it's resource.

The problem with the oceans rising is that we'd lose a lot of excellent farmland and major population centers. This is generally considered not good. If the rising oceans somehow managed to create more massive rivers capable of sustaining the population they displaced (and then some, to help counter our dislike of moving), then we might be okay with it. I personally don't look forward to having my home submerged.

Really? Then what do the scientist not on a major corporation's payroll suggest is causing the ice to melt? Have we somehow incurred God's wrath, and he's punishing us by using eye-lasers to melt the ice?

It would take a couple thousand years, though.

That's pretty cool, but it doesn't really solve the issue of displaced persons or submerged farmland.

The grand canyon and crater lake have nothing to do with this topic and I believe you're right those are going to be their forever. I simply meant that the earth can heal itself in some aspects.
