How to overclock
I was reading some stuff on the internet last night about overclocking and I wanted to know how one goes about doing it. I want to overclock my processor and my graphics card. Is this a trial and error kind of thing or can I find out how to do it on the internet (And do I risk permently damaging the components if I mess up)?

How to overclock
There are some good guides hiding around the internet that will give you an in depth approach to overclocking. But, I'll give you a general idea to get you started.
First I need to inform you that overvolting does void your warranty, so do this if you are certain that you won't be screwing up. I'll tell you what not to do (don't worry, as daunting as the subject seems, the risks involved are rather subtle if you take care).
Second, I need to know your system specifications. This includes your processor brand, model, and even core. Your graphics card model, and any cooling apparatus' you have installed in your computer (Including processor, and gpu cooling). Your ram is important when performing any serious overclocking, and I understand you won't be jumping the gun yet, but I still should know your ram and any other components.
Both can be performed in Windows, using various applications. But I stress that you steer clear of overclocking your processor within your operating system, for various reasons. Overclock your processor and ram within your BIOS (Basic Input/Output System, I'm sure you are aware of this). The video card is generally easy to overclock, but extremely sensitive when getting it to peak performance.
So, report back to me with all of your system specs, and we shall start. I'll make sure I help you out with the most friendly support I can offer. I also assure you that the risk of component damage is low, unless you totally screw up (un-likely).
