Fantasy Baseball
A friend and I have started a Yahoo fantasy baseball league, and before I opened it up to the public, I wanted to see if there was any TTPers who wanted to get in on the action before I did that. Here's a list of the settings:
League Name: MLBallin'
Season Type: Full
Draft Type: Live Draft
Draft Time: Sun Mar 15 10:00pm CDT
Max Teams: 10
Scoring Type: Rotisserie
Player Universe: All baseball
New Players Become Available: As soon as Yahoo! adds them
Max Moves: No maximum
Max Trades: No maximum
Trade Reject Time: 2
Trade End Date: August 23, 2009
Waiver Time: 2 days
Can't Cut List Provider: Yahoo! Sports
Trade Review: League Votes
Post Draft Players: Follow Waiver Rules
Max Games Played: 162
Max Innings Pitched: 1900
Weekly Deadline: Daily - Tomorrow
Start Scoring on: Monday, Mar 30
Roster Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, CI, MI, OF, OF, OF, OF, OF, Util, Util, P, P, P, P, P, P, P, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL
Stat Categories: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP
So...standard 5x5 roto with 23 roster slots, 5 bench slots, and 2 DL slots.
Being at the draft is pretty much a must, because it makes the whole experience more enjoyable for all, and if we have half the league autopicking, it takes a lot of the fun out of live drafting. So, please, please TAKE NOTE OF THE DRAFT DATE and try to be sure that date is going to be open for you.
You can post here or PM me if you are interested or have any questions.

Re: Fantasy Baseball
This league will be different than the football league, as this is rotisserie...meaning you won't be going head-2-head against other owners, but overall against the whole league over the course of the entire season.
For each category, the person who is in first place in that category gets the number of points times however many teams are in the league. For example, if there are 10 teams, and your team is in first in runs, you will get 10 points, 2nd place will get 9 points...last will get 1 point. And you do that for every category(in this league 10 categories for a possible max of 100 points) until the end of the season when the winner is declared by whoever has the most points.
It's a little harder than a h2h league, cause you have to be active over the course of the season, and the best team overall wins, not the one team that decides to get hot during the playoffs. Some people like it(I like it), and some people don't.
Also different from basketball and football is you have pitching categories and batting categories, so the strategy when drafting is a lot deeper. It's a lot of fun.

Re: Fantasy Baseball
Well...how about this:
I can definitely make the draft-date, but I'm not going to be a definite. There may be other people here who want to play and know more about it than I do, or you may have some friends who want to play, but my slot prevents them.
If you have any trouble filling, definitely fill me in. It sounds like a lot of fun, but again, I don't want to prevent someone who knows what they're doing from playing. I know how it sucks to have a retard in the draft.
