Thread: TF2 Server Connection Problem

So I play the game with Meena a lot and we're in the same room running off the same Linksys router. It's a pretty standard deal with Cable Modem > Linksys Router > Computers. Recently, if one of us is playing on TPG, and then other tries to connect to, the person originally connected will drop from the server. The little red message pops up in the upper right and 30 seconds later its a lost connection. It doesn't matter who is originally on first, they will get disconnected when the second person tries to connect.

Anyone experience anything like this? What gives?

It doesn't do this every time, but often enough that it's annoying.

Sounds like a problem with the router. Try setting the router to default settings and then connect. Might be some issue with two computers on the router connecting to one IP. Might think that its two open connections from one source and closes one of them.

I used to have a similar problem. My brother, Mr.Unoriginal, and I would try to play at the same time and after an update only one could connect and when the other tried it would give us an error message. There was a fix for it, im not sure of it right now, but later tonight I can find it out for you.
