TF2 Blog: Pyromania: Day Two
At the end of the day, the Pyromania update is a celebration—not just of Team Fortress, but more importantly of you, the TF community, and even more importantly than that, of us, the TF blog post writers, and how great yesterday's blog post was. That Men Without Hats material was a career high. In fact, we decided to never touch this blog again in the hope that it might be preserved in a perfect state for future generations.

Ok, my reaction to the scout is the pistol could be cool, will have to wait to see it in game to be sure. The Scattergun just sounds stupid, like the accuracy could help but the slowdown and the no jumping sounds like it will kill this, and even if you accept the no jumping you only end up going 30% faster than a normal scout which I guess would help when darting in and out of a corner with your more accurate scattergun or making a getaway but really you're losing out on jumping so not worth it IMO.
Sniper I like that he's getting a new SMG, might have people actually use the SMG again but this SMG sounds really weaksauce, I've never been a fan of the whole crit on kill thing, and you're only going to have 20 shots in this with a slower firing speed, that 3 seconds sounds really weak when you think of that, the gun is already going to be semi weak with less ammo, I just don't know how much you'll be able to do with it that you can't already do with the SMG or Jarate. New Sniper Rifle could be cool though penalty on body shots with cool effect for a headshot kill, should be cool. Only thing I don't like is the no unscoping with focus on but then again we don't know how long focus lasts.
The Rocket Launcher sounds to me like it's something that works more for holding down hallways, the thing that comes to mind is the hall the cart goes on I think it's Goldrush 1 having 3 shots quickly(I think) could be helpful, it might end up being like the Brass Beast where people only bring it out for defense.
And now to the last the new Flare Gun, I can see some better pyros than me having fun with this, even more so if it has some form of crit on hit of lit targets, but this has the potential to fuck teams up good, I can see this demolishing on upwards just that one area where it's easy to make people fall to their deaths, this and a airblast could kill a whole team easy I think, or it could even be used to replace the airblast and push people, but getting burns on the whole other team from a distance could destroy.

I wanna see what happens if you get airshots with the new flare gun....since it has knockback, will they go flying across the map because of the combination of minicrit/knockback? Unless it doesn't minicrit when they are already flamed up.

Hmmm that rocket launcher COULD be great. You would need a map with plenty of ammo boxes around but being able to unleash so much damage at once could be a big game changer. Sucks if you miss but 3 rockets going at a medic will kill him even if they each only touch him. Would take out a demo to... Going to have to shout at people for using this vs Hush though. I dont look forward to the next few days of playing vs him with everyone using the new weapons. I do look forward to all the free scout kills though.
