I'd be careful about relying so much on crowning her - it's a fast lane to being incapped if you're facing a team who's good.
By the way - a nice fact you might want to know is that if the witch stands up, agitated (without you scratching her, obviously), all you need to do is scratch her and she will instantly snap and go for the person.
This is why crowning can lead to so many problems because if she starts standing up, and she's not dead - all the SI need to do is swipe her and she will run at the person who semi-startled her.
It's almost always better to have all of your team mates get ready, one with a molotov, have two of your team mates cover the spawn points behind you, so you don't get boomed on while trying to run backwards, and just light her up and run back. This is probably twice as safe as attempting a crowning as the only way you can really be incapped is if the SI manage to slow you down significantly because your team mates weren't covering the spawn points well enough.

Crowning - with a shotgun.
To kill her with a Hunting Rifle - you need to shoot her in the head, then proceed to get every shot hit her after that, meaning all 15 rounds need to hit her.
Or, have your entire team rush her with all the firepower they have, while she's stumbling and kill her.

Oh, I LOVE doing this. Last night on DT, the witch was in a stupid far away place in the woods (right before the church.. DT3 I think) where nobody at all would ever disturb her.
It was also the best place to hide. I waited until someone walked by who was distracted and pulled them right into the witch. "SCREEEEECH!!! OM NOM NOM NOM NOM!"
Good times.
Most of the time, the witch is like a speed bump. The team slows down, someone walks up with an autoshotty and it's over before the infected can do anything about it. Shoot... most of the time the team doesn't even slow down anymore.
