My 2 cents...
http://www.texasteamplayers.com/index.php?topic=27249.0
Sorry I missed that discussion.
Admin was in the right, especially due to the player's comments.
Really from my point of view it is something I wish could be done more often.
I can completely understand catching flack for that. Allow me to explain -
Nothing annoys me more than people not playing as a team.
Bad players I can forgive.
You can' t aim that rocket launcher? Its OK, Ill heal you anyway, off to your death.
But you are trying.
Maybe you are off doing your own thing and don't have a mic and can't figure out how to use the keyboard.
That's fine. It's almost like you aren't there so I just ignore you. If you help out - great.
Then...
...you have a mic. Those on your team have mics as well. Coordinating, working together, pinpointing enemy strength and weakness.
But not you. You go off and blabber on. Or pointedly refuse the pleas of your teammates for support.
Or please, please no - spam the chat or voice.
I pretty much hate you at that point.
I will ask to have you kicked.
Somewhere in between those extremes the Admins set the bar.
The server here gets full often and there is a lot of talent that call this their pissing ground.
We do not have the resources to waste on, well - waste.
So if you are on an extremely offensive (only) map, there are 9 guys on your team and 3 are snipers, don't continue to spawn sniper unless you know you are the end all be all of sniperdom, especially when multiple teammates ask you politely (at first) to try another class.
This server tends to be a bit more adult and mature then most and responds to repeated non-productive behavior with appropriate action.
I have to say that is one of the main reasons I have marked out a corner here.
-Keep it up-

Re: My 2 cents...
Reading over that post there is one line that bothers me -
"Nothing annoys me more than people not playing as a team."
Because this could be construed as flawed.
It could be assumed that this must be based on MY idea of teamwork.
Thankfully most often not.
I am not a great leader, I am a great teammate.
Sometimes that calls for me to be a leader.
We are in sad straights if I must lead, I get hair brained ideas that usually have a 50/50 chance of working out.
Usually I try to leave the leading to those who are good at it and just fill in the gaps.
Scout that actually scouts? - Present
We need teleports and a dispenser, I'm your Engi
Requirement = Sticky Hell?, I'm your Demo
Need an Uber, I'm your medic (for a round...)
Unleash the heavy and shoot over my shoulder as I grind us all forward
Sentry in the house? Uber this Pyro and *burn* em all
When I hoist up that rocket launcher watch em run...
I'm a piss poor spy and sniper. I'm too twitchy for sniper and not subtle enough for spy.
I can be whatever class you need, so if you are leading and want me to change, ask away. Ill reply.
I really wish this was a mentality more people would adopt.
I hate to see badly classed teams. On either side. Leads to less of a challenge and not as much fun.
But back to the point, my idea of what teamwork is would be pretty much what the team is doing.
If you think you can do a better job - man up on the Mic and lead.
Maybe you will be better at it that I am...

Re: My 2 cents...
Great follow up. Admins aren't the only one who can enforce teamplay though. Most of the time its up to the regs to see that people are playing accordingly. Yell at em tell them shit anything to get them moving. TTP is all about leaders, chances are if you play here you're pretty good at being a leader otherwise you wouldn't enjoy playing here. To all the regs here that keep pushing teamplay, thank you.
