in the eyes of the engineer trying to built up as fast as he can before the gates open or the spy whos saving his cloak for the gates and the enemy sees him and shouts out over the mic what he is, its cheap. so i will call it cheap.

also the medic trying to get his uber up and gets killed before the gates open.

I see your point, and I kind of felt that way too before, but really it's usually just one or two demos or soldiers who hop over, in which case it should be easy for your team to take them out if you work together if you stay alert.

The only reason you call it cheap is because you assume that 1.) Valve is so stupid that when they designed the map they didn't realize you could do this, and 2.) Any map with a gate is guaranteed protection during the setup time.

Both of these assumptions are wrong, this isn't cheap, it was designed into the map, it was meant to be like this. Change your strategy accordingly, every map is distinct and different.

But the flinging demo has to be lucky he picked the right side or wastes some health in doing so.

I think this should be considered more skill and teamplay because you can let your team know "I'm going over to take out some" and let them know who you killed and what they have.

'Work with your team to accomplish your objective by any means nessesary'. It is the same thing in 2142 with air transport ramming, or nade spamming, it is called cheap but is a dramatic stratagy to help your team. Whether it's taking out a walker killing your team or defending the titan, if it works, do it.

a lot of people see it as bs that there is a character that can become invisible, that can shoot rockets, that can heal... it's all part of the game and the fact of the matter is, both sides can do it easily, and you have to sacrifice someone to do it, it can also easily be defended against
