05-15-08, 09:13 PM #1Server slots
I'm just curious, how many slots on the server are reserved for admins/reservists? Because lately I've been trying to join when its 20/24 or 21/24 and it keeps kicking me saying this slot is reserved.
I know, I know, the simple solution is to get a reserved slot, but not at this time, so please don't ask. I'm just curious as to what the actual limit is and if there is a problem somewhere along the line (either on my end or the servers, because I refresh a number of times and I wait, and it still says 21/24 or 20/24 sometimes and it won't let me in).

Re: Server slots
Sometimes LoneStar (our new admin mod done by our very own Ewok) seems to act up a bit regarding r-slots. Apparently they are a bitch to program. If any of you think you can do better then Ewok then speak up now.
Don't worry, the problem is known and being addressed.

Re: Server slots
if it's 22 out of 24, then it's "full" from a non-reservist perspective. the 2 open slots are for connections. If you are a reservist, you can connect, and it will remove a non reservist, keeping it at 22/24.
We have 2 open slots since frequently, people spam join join join, and those in line are blocked from getting the chance to connect (reservists can't connect). But if you're not a reservist, and the server is 22/24......then you can't get on.
that's how it is on all our servers, not just the lonestar ones.

Kind of figured it was 22. Just wanted to know because I tried to join at least 3 times today when there should have been room from what I saw I on the server listing. I stopped because I did not want to spam the server anymore than I already was.
Thanks for the info.

how to fix problems and errors?
a) First fix: Exit Steam and open Command Prompt in windows then run “c:\Program Files\Steam\bin\SteamService.exe” /repair. Start Steam and run the game. Hopefully it works.
b) If it doesn’t, try this new trick: Exit Steam and delete the file SteamService.exe (located in the Steam installation folder) then restart Steam.
c) If this doesn’t fix the problem either, you could try a last thing: exit Steam, Head over to Control Panel → Programs and Features, right click on Steam and click Repair. It will take a while but it will probably worth the wait
