    5. Engineer (might be up for debate but sometimes he needs to get to the front line to repair)

Acceptable With A Good Reason List
    6. Sniper
    7. Medic

Not Ever, No Way, No How List
    8. Spy (You dont want teleport dust trailing from you anyways)
    9. Scout (You're fast, you can walk there)
I would switch Engineer and Medic in that list.

Almost always the Medic needs to be on the front lines fast to continue healing the VIPs (soldier, heavy).

Occasionally an engineer needs to get to the front lines (but that's the definition of "Acceptable With A Good Reason List"). He can always VOIP saying "I need to get there now to repair the sentry"

Had a great time playing with you last night Ewok. Thanks for the tips on Sentry placement.

Well after a few hours of the game crashing I finally got the settings right to get good fps without the hl.exe error (I guess I cant use the dual core support even though Ive got a dual core....weird).
Thanks for all the advice, Ive been playing on a few severs and it mostly seems like organized chaos (albeit very very fun chaos) Ill wait until the TTP ones are populated and see what this game is really about.

Oh yeah and being a CS whore I found an affinity for the scout and sniper right away, but I'm giving them all a fair try (making those robotic guns with the engineer was very satisfying!)

You can get some good practice of the classes by playing in other servers just lone-wolfing and honing your skills, but when it comes to actual gameplay and strategy, theres no better server than a TTP server.

By the way, you can right-click on blueprints to rotate buildings as an engineer. I didnt find this out until about a month in when I accidentally clicked it. :5

You can just call them sentries... haha Good to see some CS people expanding their horizons more than constant Dust2...

Yeah I was looking at it from more of a engineer-bias viewpoint. "I built it so Im gonna take it" I am not, but if any of my buildings are in sudden peril, you better believe Im taking it before anyone...

    Re: Fresh Meat

In a patch long ago they fixed things up to where disguised spies no longer track teleporter dust. If your not disguised you track it just like everyone else. I really think the spy should be in the "with a good reason" category personally, since that patch. In general though, you usually want to take the sneaky approach by going a different side of the map while your team draws attention from you.

    Also check this guy out

He has a few how to TF2 vids as to how to play the classes most effectively. Just pick one of the vids.

Here's the first part of his scout video :9

Thanks for the advice, youtube has some good videos for TF2 tactics. I had no idea that you could charge the sniper rife, no wonder I had to shoot people so many times!
