Totally. In fact if you want to ghost your dive when you get it set up you could do that and just re-ghost your drive when it crashed, but alas you will loose all your data.

On the other hand you can just use raid 1 to mirror your drive and if it ever crashed you will have a copy. It is not as good a burns set up *drool* but it will work. You will have to have a raid motherboard or raid card to enable raid though.

Burn is correct though, partitioning a drive is really not a good idea. It will not save your data if the HD fails, but a raid 1 will.

I am back up and running but now my Comcast is out, so no internet.

Lame.

They gave me a timeframe of 7-10 days until the outtage is fixed. They said it was my whole node...wtf?!

Something bad happened during that storm.

I've got access to forums at work, so I'm trying to keep up to date.

Miss playing, Im sure I'll have some rust to shake off when I get back.

Damn, I wonder how many computers were hit by that one storm then if its the whole node...

storms can get pretty wicked around here in florida. When a real big 1 hits every once in a while i usually turn off my computer and unplug my whole power strip that goes to my desk. Then I turn on 1 of the crappy TV's that i dont care if they blow up.

luckily we didn't loose any power or service or anything....but I did see them replacing a power-pole by the next exit up I-45 from me :-P
