Server uses different class tables

Question
I receive the error "Disconnected: Server uses different class tables" when attempting to connect to a server - what should I do?

Answer
This error will commonly occur when an update has been released to a game through Steam and the server administrator has not yet updated the dedicated server which you are attempting to connect to.

The best solution would be to connect to advise the server administrator to update the dedicated server (if contact information is available) and connect to another server until the updates have been applied.

Right after I downloaded the update I tried to connect to TTP: TF2 and got the message "Disconnect: Server uses different class tables". I did some trouble shooting an came up with that article. Does the server need to be updated?

Yeah it does, I think, happened to me too and I looked it up as well.

UPDATE:

After chatting with Biffy I've answered my own question. When he started TF2 he didn't have to download an update. The update must have been released sometime between the time Biffy started TF2 and when I started TF2. After the server adminstrators update the dedicated server this won't be a problem anymore... I think...

That is exactly it, steam updated TF2 and it clashes with the current server. The server merely needs to be updated to run along the new update of STEAM and then there will be no more problem. The post below this one explains what was in that very update if you're curious.

I am sure the admins are working on the issue.
