I think he was letting the idea sit in his mind for a bit.

haha i read that post already. believe me i understand what you're saying, where i was coming from though was i don't think it would make a difference if i was a medic or a pyro if i could accomplish the same goals just differently. but i think i'll just stick to sniper on TTP and i'll take my medic needles to other servers if i have a craving.

it looks like everyone is on this forum that plays on the server, good deal

Considering how deadly you are with that F@$(#*! rifle I don't see this as TTP's loss!

    Re: Medic's Question

There is no way you can do more damage as a medic than another class like soldier. There is just no way. Medic needles have advantages when falling back, or taking an SG from range maybe. But a Soldier could do better in any situation. (Lets do a 1v1 with medic vs soldier/pyro/heavy and Ill prove it to you.)

I kill people all the time with my medigun, but Id rather keep alive the guys who can lay out more pain than a medic.

You're a good teamplayer adobek, I dont think you should worry too much about micromanaging your healing to shooting ratio as medic. But if you are going to play medic, and there are people nearby calling for you, then heal them. If you'd rather fight in this situation, then play soldier/heavy/pyro/etc.

    Know your class' role.

I'll take that wager sometime. Let me know.

Snipers don't have to sit back and be protected either, i think i've at least proved that

    Re: Medic's Question

Now I am no expert on TF2 but I have played a fair bit, the medic is not a particularly effective combat class. But there are times I've been medic and my team, particularly the ones I am healing will neither listen to me or succed in anyway to protect me. At those times the language directed at my monitor becomes R-rated, and usually at this point my goal stops being heal my team and becomes stay alive which inturn means I spend more time with the syringe gun out than I do with the medgun.
I've finished more than on round with a 2 to 1 kill to death ration as a medic, now even at that point it is not to say I do not heal my teammates and or neglect my ubercharge. There is just no point in suicidally charging a sentry gun with some idiot when you are 80% of the way to an uber though, so you tell him to stop and when he doesn't you let him die alone and then think about how to survive. So you call and ask where someone is to heal, anyone and no one fucking replies so you are sitting all alone in hostile territory. So what do you do, you fight desperately and hope someone shows up soon and what do they do when they get there and you start healing them, they charge another damn sentry gun before the uber is up and it starts all over again but this time you don't survive.
In the short of things the medic has an obligations to his team but he can't do that unless his team helps him. If my team does a good job protecting men by listening when I shout "spy behind us", "pyro coming from the right", or "wait i almost have an uber", I never even pull out a weapon until it is the mop up at the end of the round.
