    If you can't run, try to fight in a confined space to limit the scout's ridiculous mobility.

    If you can't do that, blow yourself up and deny him the frag.

    I guess I don't feel so bad anymore. LOL. I use the few tactics people have mentioned. I will just stick near someone with a gun :P

    If you can find a doorway close by, run backwards into that and throw a few stickies on the frame and wait.

    Learn to be able to gauge the scouts speed and to fire pipe bombs far enough ahead to get them. I have been getting better at this. Huge sticky minefields are also highly effective.
    enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

    I'm not sure if this is obvious or what but I like to shoot a sticky right where he is at, then shoot one opposite immediately (where he'll probably jump to)...then run towards either of these positions and jump and detonate if he's still around....I might lay down a few more in a circular area if he's hopping around me and try to catch him over one of them

    ...I think the key to a good offensive Demo is to use stickies aggressively, not defensively. As has been mentioned, pipe bombs are great cause if they hit the scout will run away...I'm not so sure a 1 out of 6 or 5 chance is very accurate for a skilled demoman...I bet the best demo men have better odds than this and pipe bombs are more useful. What would suck is, of course, getting scattergunned while this is happening so it has to work fast.

    I get 'lucky' enough with pipe bombs I'm getting more confident in these situations but in general I think leading with stickies and trying to blow them up enough that they run away is the best strategy.

    In the last while I hadbeen playing I'd gotten fairly good at killing scouts as a demo, trick is pipebombs when they are jumping otherwise they just dodge I seem to be getting about 50% kills unless they don't jump then it is bad because they simply jump to avoid the pipebombs.
