Learn to be able to gauge the scouts speed and to fire pipe bombs far enough ahead to get them. I have been getting better at this. Huge sticky minefields are also highly effective.

I'm not sure if this is obvious or what but I like to shoot a sticky right where he is at, then shoot one opposite immediately (where he'll probably jump to)...then run towards either of these positions and jump and detonate if he's still around....I might lay down a few more in a circular area if he's hopping around me and try to catch him over one of them
...I think the key to a good offensive Demo is to use stickies aggressively, not defensively. As has been mentioned, pipe bombs are great cause if they hit the scout will run away...I'm not so sure a 1 out of 6 or 5 chance is very accurate for a skilled demoman...I bet the best demo men have better odds than this and pipe bombs are more useful. What would suck is, of course, getting scattergunned while this is happening so it has to work fast.

In the last while I hadbeen playing I'd gotten fairly good at killing scouts as a demo, trick is pipebombs when they are jumping otherwise they just dodge I seem to be getting about 50% kills unless they don't jump then it is bad because they simply jump to avoid the pipebombs.
