unusually high ping
this weekend my ping started to be much higher than normal... like over 100 and all the way up to 250ish
normally i'm at like 60 or 70... i have no idea why, there seems to be no apparent reason for it
i've tried to get it better but nothing has worked
i'm sad because it's made it nearly impossible for me to play effectivly...
i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem recently or if it's just me?
or do you have any suggestions on how to fix it
thanks...
of course it happens as soon as i get approved for a reserved slot...

Re: unusually high ping
Meh, its not all that bad really... usually. But when it happens, it's completely unplayable. I mean, it takes over six seconds to send something to the server and get it back (at least, i think that's what that means). But I was having reasonable sucky ping the other night when we scrimmed the killers (250-300 like you) and i know what you mean, it sucks.

Re: unusually high ping
I too have been experiencing lag above and beyond what I normally get (which, since I live in Canada, is always an issue. Probably we'll get working internet sometime after we get running water). If it would be helpful, I can take demos of my next few days of play, and sort through them looking for especially laggy bits.
Also, a lot of people have been mentioning that they are getting the "connection lost" message when the server changes maps; I started getting it recently as well. It doesn't seem to actually have a significant effect, but I thought I'd mention it in case it was an issue that someone wanted to look into.

Re: unusually high ping
Are you kidding me you haven't seen LAG until your ping is in at 951!
I don't know why but about 2 months ago on my old PC i went to play TF2 and logged into a TTP sever and I am normally 30-130 but that day i had 951 and rising. i got kicked when i because my computer timed out or something I went to it the next day and it magically got fixed. I bet it was the 4 laptops trying to access my internet connection at once but then again who knows.
