Coping with EPP/Mouse Accel off
So, I keep reading that mouse acceleration (or enhanced pointer precision on Vista) is a major detriment to FPS players. However, I've gotten so used to it that playing without it is simply painful. In a game like TF2, where only a couple classes require great precision, and being able to spin quickly is often a necessity, do you guys think it's worth my time to practice without EPP? I feel like since both modes are deterministic (i.e., not random), one would be able to play FPS's well either way.

Re: Coping with EPP/Mouse Accel off
I've always played cs and tf2 with mouse acceleration. It's something I'm comfortable with, so why bother changing it? Pretty sure people have giving you crap about it, but try explaining that you play flight sims and fps games using inverse mouse. :1

Re: Coping with EPP/Mouse Accel off
If you don't know, it makes it so distance traveled on screen is based on the speed of the movement of your hand. It's great for laptop trackpads so you don't have to pick your finger up over and over to mouse around the screen.
But in a game some say it's better to have the distance you move your hand be 1:1 with screen movement no matter what speed you do it at.
But really your brain can cope with either, but it seems likely to me that not using it would allow for greater precision in the long run.
I played with it on at first and then turned it off. It takes several hours before you get used to it, but eventually you will.
