    Re: CEVO experience

Does anyone know if a high-level professional team has released a demo with their associated voice-chat attached? I'd be interested to hear how much they talk and what sorts of things they are saying.

Well said everyone. Organization is very important, having a per map plan is not enough, you need to know how to vary it, change it and know where and when to hold when numbers are dropping and or medic is dead. It about territory not about kills. You can kill the crap out of the other team but if they manage to hold a line somewhere it is for not.

Jumping and speed is so crucial. Of the teams we lost to, some of them were able to get out to center faster than us (and I would say we are damn fast). Getting that first few shots in really makes a difference when you only have 6 players.

TF2 is my favorite game because it is infinitely dynamic. Like CSS with free strat roaming but even more dynamic because of class weaknesses and class strengths. You will never end up just "running through" a team with your strat (at least in cevo you wont). Things change so fast and so much it is wacky.

I would also agree with what everyone said pretty much. Try it! Start challenging the teams here, see how you stack up. After about 2-3 matches you will have a feel of what needs to change and what needs to be tweaked.

I see your forum is up..... keep an eye out.

Yes, of course. I didn't expect such a thing to be out there, but I thought perhaps a team might have released it for precisely the reason I wanted it - to aid newer teams in competition.

speed is a requirement regardless of your class.  half the battle is racing to points believe it or not.

knowing when to stay or fall back is another pivotal part. if your teams has those two i look forward to watching you in cevo p

Sometimes the pwnage.tv broadcasts have permission to get in teams vents, and from what I've seen, the teams are actually pretty quiet. They all know their jobs ahead of time so its fast concise communication without fluff.

Thats what we were discussing last night. Considering the amount of time these guys put in on all the maps and playing together, I doubt there is very much communication.

Sometimes when watching demos you'll here some chatter when a player hits the in game voice chat key (sometimes repeatedly) instead of the vent/mumble key... Usually just positions/strategy/banter.
